Mr. Khan is an associate attorney with Girard, Edwards, Stevens & Tucker. He counsels public educational agencies such as school districts, county boards of education, charter schools, and special education local plan areas on a wide range of public agency issues. Mr. Khan also helps public educational agencies navigate the complex special education process, including advising clients on compliance with the Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
After law school, and before joining Girard, Edwards, Stevens & Tucker, Mr. Khan worked as an associate for the public agency practice group at Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard, representing cities, districts, and JPAs on a range of governmental and litigation matters. He then worked as a Deputy Attorney at the California Department of Transportation, litigating on behalf of a large state agency on a variety of matters involving government claims and employment law, as well as providing advice on Public Records Act, and issues and analysis on state legislation.
In his spare time, Mr. Khan loves blogging about the Sacramento Kings and the NBA. Mr. Khan was a staff writer at Sactown Royalty, the most popular Sacramento Kings fan blog on the internet.
